A one-take video piece that captures the eye movement of Yun-Ying Liu, my mother, who has been laid up in bed with stroke since December, 2015. With rapid loss of ability to express, first talk then physical gestures, she retained her eyes expressive nevertheless, which made me believe that something inside her was still active, free from the limit of body. At the night on her 67 year-old birthday in 2016, I accompanied her by her bedside, capturing her presence through her gaze.
